Punch after punch
The boxing event series had to be hosted three times without the public’s participation. Finally, the “Night of the Lions“ could be held again in front of its fans for the first time in 2022. The event took place with the support of EMKA in the Uni-Halle (university hall) in Wuppertal. The organiser of the event series is former heavyweight Werner Kreiskott. As chairperson of the Fight Club Wuppertal, he also sent home-grown talent into the ring.
Three young talents from his club could hold their own in front of the crowd. Furthermore, the club welcomed fighters from Holland, Belgium, Poland, the Czech Republic and Romania, thus giving the sporting event an international flavour. The main event consisted of two fights according to the international K1 rules. All in all, the fans could marvel at 20 exciting fights on the special boxing evening – and an extraordinary tattoo on the fighters‘ back.
RSC ends the season in style and with many trophies
The end of the season in the two national roller hockey leagues and in the youth divisions of the RSC Cronenberg from Wuppertal, Germany, is marked by success. After a strong final spurt in the league, the ladies deserved to win the German championship.
The young men’s team also proved their will to win and fought their way to the final. There, however, they had to admit defeat by a razor-thin margin. However, both teams qualified for the international competition with their performance.
EMKA congratulates the RSC on a very successful season and wishes them every success in their future competitions.
Wuppertaler SV looks back on a successful season
Wuppertaler SV looks back on a successful season in the Regionalliga West. After the surprising autumn championship, the team finished the season in a sensational third place. This also pleases EMKA as a long-time supporter. The last time the club achieved a better ranking in the Regionalliga West was in 2003, when the division was still called Oberliga Nordrhein.
Furthermore, the team could win a crucial Revier derby in front of its home crowd. In the Lower Rhine Cup’s semifinals, the team from Wuppertal defeated their rivals from Rot-Weiss Essen. After the summer break, the team now wants to continue its attack – third place is still not good enough.
The club continues to receive support from Friedhelm Runge and the EMKA Group.
The summer party for children with special needs is very popular
Fantastic weather, delicious food and... ponies – all this awaited many children, some of them with special needs, at this year’s summer party at the Runge riding facility in Gelsenkirchen. Marita Runge, the sponsor, had created the event to give the children a fun day. Besides riding the “little horses”, face painting, a clown, and a bouncy castle were available for the children. On top of the glorious sunshine, the attractions ensured a cheerful mood and lots of fun. In addition, a food truck and a beverage pavilion provided for the physical well-being.
