Promoting innovation and talent: EMKA sponsors 3D printer for the University of Wuppertal

To support young talent, EMKA is providing the product design department at the University of Wuppertal with a 3D printer. In addition to the Stratasys Polyjet printer (model: Objet30 Prime), the sponsorship also includes the necessary accessories, such as printing material and spare parts, as well as a water jet system for cleaning the printed parts. The sponsored printer has provided EMKA with over a decade of reliable service and is now being replaced by the latest technology.

EMKA relies on high-tech: 3D printer for young designers at the University of Wuppertal

The official handover of the 3D printer took place on November 5, 2024 – organized and carried out by Mr. Alan, design engineer in the mechanical project development department, who has been managing the cooperation between EMKA and the university with great dedication.

Cutting-edge technologies for precision and efficiency: EMKA at the cutting edge of technology

Since September 2020, a new 3D printer has been in use at EMKA that covers the modern stereolithography (SLA) process in addition to the proven selective laser sintering (SLS). Thanks to the highly precise SLA process, EMKA can now print pure silicone for the first time – an innovation that is particularly important for the railway, rail vehicle and automotive industries, as well as for demanding outdoor applications.

With this investment in the latest printing technology, EMKA is underlining its commitment to the highest quality and precision in production preparation and the development of prototypes – in preparation for subsequent series production.

Promoting young talent with vision: EMKA and the future of 3D printing technology

The cooperation with the University of Wuppertal offers young designers the opportunity to gain practical experience with professional technology. Mr. Alan expresses his delight in the project: “We are very pleased that with the cooperation between EMKA and the University of Wuppertal, our 3D printer is in competent hands. This way EMKA can contribute to the promotion of young talents.”

For EMKA, this collaboration not only means supporting future product designers, but also the opportunity to pass on innovation and technological expertise to the next generation.
