New: 125° Hinge for quick door assembly

Why make it difficult when it can be easy? The 125° hinge for quick door assembly from EMKA’s 1031 program enables simplified, without-tools door installation. This flush hinge for prominent doors is suitable for both traditional industrial applications and use in specialized industries such as special-purpose vehicle manufacturing or rail vehicles. Two stainless steel versions have been added to the Program. The frame part and the shaft are made of stainless steel (AISI 304), while the door part with the latch is made of stainless steel (AISI 316).

With conventional hinge systems, assembling a prominent door or flap is usually inconvenient. The hinge pin can only be pressed in if the door frame mount and the door mount are precisely aligned with each other. Disassembly is also often time-consuming, especially when there is limited space above or below the hinge. The 125° hinge for quick door assembly offers a simple solution to this problem.

The flush – and therefore hidden – hinge can be mounted on the left or right side of the frame. To fix the prominent door or flap to the frame, place the door assembly onto the plastic sliding washers of the frame assembly. Then simply slide it horizontally toward the hinge pin until the door assembly audibly clicks into place. This feature sets the hinge apart from conventional solutions. This is because the hinge pin is permanently installed in the frame assembly and does not need to be moved up or down. The guide automatically positions the assembly correctly. With light pressure against the door, the door sections of the hinge lock into place and are securely connected to the frame assembly.

This requires neither tools nor locking the door. A secure connection between the door panel and the frame is established simply by pressing the open door against the frame. Removing the door or flap is just as easy. To do so, pull the latch on the door panel assembly to unlock the door panel. The remaining hinges can then be opened, and the door or flap can be quickly removed.

Addition of Stainless Steel Variants to the Program

With our new variants 1031-U36 and 1031-U37, the 1031 program is expanded to include stainless steel versions. The frame component is identical to 1031-U13, while the door component features a hole spacing of 35 mm due to its locking mechanism.
The simplified, without-tools door assembly allows the door component to snap into place on its own during assembly. Slotted holes on the door component enable precise horizontal fine-tuning.

In addition, the hinge can be installed on either the left or right version; it has been tested for shock and vibration in accordance with DIN EN 61373 Cat. 1B and has successfully passed endurance testing. It is ideal for small lockers or modular doors where there is no space to pull out a hinge pin. The stainless steel variants 1031-U36 and 1031-U37 are available now. An overview of all variants in the 1031 Program can be found in the product overview.
