EMKA promotes young talents and competitive sport
The Sprockhövel‘s WAZ Cup features top-notch indoor football, and RSC Cronenberg‘s roller hockey team is gearing up for the second half of the Bundesliga season.
However, athletes must also train outside the gym for the second half of the season; EMKA‘s sports centre is assisting SC Sonnborn 07‘s talented footballers in their preparations for upcoming matches. The youth football teams of SC Sonnborn 07 from Wuppertal enjoyed the best conditions for their winter training. The talented youngsters were able to train undisturbed on three indoor pitches at the EMKA sports centre, despite the cold and the rain.
The traditional club, founded in 1907, looks after around 200 children and young people and is actively committed to integration, tolerance and sporting development – values that are also close to EMKA‘s heart. The company is therefore delighted to support not only the club‘s management and coaches, but also the young athletes themselves, contributing to the promotion of young talent in the region.

A tradition of indoor football: the WAZ Cup in Sprockhövel
A full hall, three days of competition, 20 teams competing, and one big winner. The conditions for the 34th edition of the WAZ Cup in the Glückauf-Halle in Sprockhövel were once again ideal this winter. With participants such as TuS Ennepetal (First Division) and the hosts TSG Sprockhövel and SC Obersprockhövel (both Westphalian Football League), high-calibre encounters were pre-programmed.
Ultimately, Ennepetal‘s favoured team secured a 2:0 victory over Hedefspor Hattingen in the final match. EMKA‘s long-standing title sponsorship of TSG Sprockhövel underscores the tournament‘s significance as a key event in the regional football calendar, highlighting the importance of indoor football.
RSC Cronenberg on a title hunt in roller hockey
Celebrating 70 years of roller hockey passion, RSC Cronenberg is battling for the championship title in its anniversary season. The Lions‘ strong first half, including victories against IGR Remscheid (8:2) and RESG Walsum (5:1), must now be validated in the latter half of the season.
However, the title race involving Herringen and Remscheid will stay exciting until the very end. For their 70th anniversary season, Cronenberg‘s success will depend on both their potent offense and a reliable defence to win close games. Home strength will also be a key factor: with the support of their fans, the Lions want to continue on their way to the top in the second half of the season. As a long-standing partner, EMKA stands behind the team and wishes them every success.
