Security Today is more than Just Locking

Today, the standard set for modern IT–Infrastructure requires the highest level of physical security and has driven the development forward from a purely mechanical handle to a mechatronic handle system. In the area of electronic locking and monitoring, EMKA offers with its “Electronic Locking & Monitoring” (ELM) portfolio high-performance locking and sensor technology. The product program is completed by extensive hardware and software solutions, allowing a comfortable control of all components and the evaluation of recorded data up to complete rack management applications. The EMKA Electronics online catalogue includes the following chapter:

  • Real-time monitoring and access permission management via EMKA Smart Access Manager
  • Potential-free contact for handle status monitoring
  • Optional connector for additional door contact
  • Push notification if handle was not closed within an adjustable time period
  • Automatic logging of opening and locking events via app
  • Outdoor swing handle made of zinc die-cast
  • Resistance class 2, tested acc. to DIN EN 1630
  • Protection class IP 65

Control access reliably

The requirements on a modern IT infrastructure demand a maximum of physical security.

Following this trend EMKA offers, besides the established mechanical locking solutions, electromechanical locking systems with the matching hardware and software components for access control as well as the control, surveillance and analysis of security-relevant processes around the rack management. These electromechanical locking solutions meet the highest requirements for access control in conjunction with an intelligent rack monitoring.

The modular structure and standardized connection technology guarantee a simple integration in new and existing systems.

Agent E Wireless

The Agent E Wireless is the a swinghandle based on wireless communication. Due to its wireless and thus cost-saving mounting it is most suitable for retrofitting in data centers. The authentication is done by holding an RFID card to the swinghandle.

The data on the card is sent to the system via an encrypted radio connection and checked. If authorization is granted, an opening command is sent to the handle. A highly-efficient power management guarantees a long battery life.

Agent E Smart Access

Use your smartphone as a digital key – now possible with the new Agent E Smart Access. The swinghandle, which is based on Bluetooth® technology, is controlled using the new, free “EMKA Smart Access Key” app. The management software only grants controlled access to authorized persons.

All opening and closing operations are logged in the cloud. Access authorizations for certain handles can be easily assigned and revoked in real time via the management software.

Smart Access Unit

The interface box has up to 4 connections for various electromechanical locks, e.g. swinghandles and single-point latches for setting up a smartphone-based access control system. In addition to the handle/lock status, door statuses or side walls can be monitored via contacts.

The interface box communicates wirelessly via Bluetooth® Low Energy with smartphones and the installed “EMKA Smart Access Key” app. If the smartphone has the appropriate authorization for a specific handle or lock, the box provides the necessary signals for opening.

Control Cockpit

With the software Control Cockpit you can monitor all Control Units. The display of system data can be configured in the user interface according to customer requirements. All access attempts to server racks are logged and completely documented.

All operating status are displayed and alarms are directly transmitted to the operator. The open database structure with SQL interface enables a simple integration into higher level systems.

Indoor use

The innovative locks by EMKA can be used universally for a variety of applications. The handles are available in both wired and wireless versions.

The wireless and battery-operated handles, in particular, offer high savings potential regarding installation and operation due to the fact that no wiring is required. They are particularly suitable for retrofitting.

Outdoor use

The use of locks outdoors make special demands on tightness, dust as well as protection against vandalism. For this EMKA has already developed some robust special solutions, on request also with anti-graffiti coating.

The highest protection against vandalism is provided by motor-driven solutions with locks and hinges that cannot be seen from the outside.

IT Infrastructure Management:
Modular Design to Suit Any Requirement

An infrastructure management system consists of a network-compatible communications module as a central unit. Function modules are connected with standard patch cables and communicate via robust CAN bus to the central unit. Handles, locks, sensors or card readers are simply plugged into the modules with standard connectors. Modular design and the standardised connectors ensure easy installation and fast commissioning. The required modules are installed in the cabinets as requested. The decentralised structure lowers costs and reduces the necessary wiring costs. The functionality of the system can be extended and completed by adding additional modules at any time.
