Whether human or animal: EMKA has a heart for all little ones

It is a well-known fact that EMKA has been supporting individuals and sports clubs for years. But the commitment also goes beyond sports. Therefore, this time we are taking a look at the hopes of two football clubs for young talents. On the other hand, numerous of our four-legged friends will also benefit from the EMKA Sponsoring Program. Read about it below.

NEWS FROM THE WORLD OF SPONSORING

In Bosnia, near the two EMKA factories in Goražde, EMKA has founded the Animal Rescue Bosnia project. The objective is the rescue and placement of abandoned dogs and puppies. Especially in the region around Gorazde, there are many stray dogs, which are neglected, hungry and sometimes even sick. Many Bosnians are willing to give these dogs a new home after successful treatment and vaccination. In recent months, a state-of-the-art dog rescue centre in accordance with European standards, including a veterinary clinic, has been built on-site covering a total of around 6,000 m2. The Animal Rescue Bosnia offers space for 100 dogs; it also includes more than 3,500 m2 of exercise area.

Since 2019, volunteers, as well as professional animal caretakers and veterinarians, have been tirelessly rescuing the stray dogs. They have been nursed to health, neutered or sterilised, appropriately identified and returned to their familiar surroundings if an owner could not be found. Another important task of the EMKA project is to place puppies and young dogs in Germany and all over Europe – a matter close to Marita and Neza Runge's heart, who organises all necessary processes including the applicable correspondence. Thanks to Marita Runge and her team, many dogs have already found a new home. For detailed information, go to

Sponsoring football, from the smallest clubs to first division clubs

It takes time to become a football star. Both, the Cronenberger SC and the SV Union Velbert belong to the EMKA Sport Sponsoring Programme and are proud to look back on a functioning youth department. The SV Union Velbert 2011 e.V. is not only active in football but also in table tennis, gymnastics, hiking and tennis. It was formed in 2011 from a merger of the Velbert sports clubs TuS Neviges and FC Tönisheide. Already 109 years before, the Cronenberger SC 1902 was founded on the Wuppertal Südhöhen. From the ranks of the SC, some players have already made the leap from youth to higher classes, including the regional league to Wuppertal SV. Reason enough for EMKA to provide the youngsters with jerseys and equipment so that the little ones can literally become big ones.

For the one or other young kicker, the jump into the upper league might also be possible – maybe again with EMKA logo on the chest, if the change to TSG Sprockhövel would take place. The TSG kickers are currently fighting for their place in the Oberliga Westfalen - against the favoured Ahleners (see photo) with success.

Life for the equestrian sport

“All the happiness on earth lies on the back of horses” – for Sarah Kristin Runge, this well-known saying applies in any case. From childhood on, the love of the now 26-year-old belongs to the proud four-legged friends. Sarah received classical rider training by learning equestrian vaulting from her mother Marita at the age of three at the Löckenhoff riding facility in Mettmann. She quickly became an ambitious dressage rider. Over the years numerous victories and awards in various performance classes followed up to jumping in the Grand Prix class. Among others, Sarah received the rider badge in gold. Since autumn 2017, she has been training her horses in Voerde, at the renowned Krüsterhof with riding master Johann Hinnemann. She also supports her father Friedhelm Runge with her passion and around the numerous tournaments that Sarah rides worldwide. This is proven, among other things, by the impressive EMKA Horse Truck with original EMKA fittings and state-of-the-art interior equipment for horse and rider. We wish Sarah good luck for all further competitions!
